IRC CertificationThe IRC credential was introduced in 2016 by the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) in the United States as a professional certification for investor relations. TIRI has partnered with NIRI to promote best practices in investor relations. Effective immediately, TIRI members who register can save USD$200 on the registration fee.

Objective of IRCThe Investor Relations Certification (IRC) aims to cultivate and validate your understanding of the fundamental knowledge and core principles of Investor Relations (IR), enhancing your capability to implement IR strategic concepts.

Certification ProcessThe exam consists of 170 multiple-choice questions, conducted over a three-hour period via online access on your computer. Questions cover basic financial metrics and practical scenario simulations.
After registration, you will receive an email from NIRI with details about the expected exam time and other relevant information. EligibilityApplicants must meet one of the following education and professional work experience options:
(1) A bachelor's degree from the U.S. or equivalent (including Taiwan), with at least three years of full-time qualified work experience as an IR professional or consultant. (2) Six years of qualified full-time work experience as an IR professional or consultant. (3)Holding a current certificate related to IR practice, with at least three years of full-time qualified work experience as an IR professional or consultant. Serve as an IR professional or consultant at a publicly traded company, achieving proficiency in at least seven of the following eleven IR practice areas: Domain 1: IR Strategy Formulation Domain 2: IR Planning, Implementation and Measurement Domain 3: Corporate Messaging Development Domain 4: Investor Marketing and Outreach Domain 5: Corporate Financial Reporting and Analysis Domain 6: Business Insight Domain 7: Strategic Counsel and Collaboration Domain 8: Capital Markets and Capital Structure Domain 9: Corporate Regulatory Compliance Domain 10: Corporate Governance Domain 11: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Candidates not meeting these criteria may still take the exam by selecting "IRC Candidates" during registration and must submit proof of at least three years of IR work experience within four years of passing the written exam. Preparation for the ExamIt is recommended to first acquire IR knowledge from basic to advanced through audiovisual courses, complemented by reading content from written materials to deepen and internalize the knowledge.
