Background
In 2022, the Financial Supervisory Commission announced the Corporate Governance 3.0 - Sustainable Development Blueprint, focusing on five key areas, including "enhancing information transparency to promote sustainable operations" and "strengthening communication with stakeholders to create good interaction channels," to deepen corporate governance in Taiwan and enhance the international competitiveness of our capital market.
To elevate the professionalism and importance of Taiwan's investor relations and align with the Corporate Governance Sustainable Development Blueprint, TIRI (Taiwan Investor Relations Institute) held its Annual Conference and the inaugural Taiwan Investor Relations Awards【TIRI IR Awards】 on December 14, 2022, to commend outstanding investor relations companies and professionals, thereby raising the standard of IR excellence and corporate recognition.

Objectives

To recognize and commend the best-performing companies and individuals among Taiwan's listed entities or those with Taiwan stock coverage through comprehensive and independent investor relations surveys.
To promote good corporate governance, advocate higher transparency and timely, fair disclosure, ultimately enhancing shareholder value for all companies.
To highlight exemplary investor relations practices for other publicly listed companies and IR professionals to emulate.
To recognize the diversity of investor relations activities and practices, ultimately contributing to raising standards in these fields.

Award Categories and Selection Mechanism
Market Capitalization Groups
Companies are categorized into five groups based on their market capitalization among TWSE (Taiwan Stock Exchange) and TPEx (Taipei Exchange) stocks.

Mega cap of TWSE companies (over 200 billion)
Large cap of TWSE companies (50 billion to 200 billion)
Small and Mid cap of TWSE (below 50 billion)
Large cap of TPEx companies (over 2 billion)
Small & Mid cap of TPEx companies (below 2 billion)

Award Categories and Selection Mechanism

Best Investor Relations Company

Companies are selected based on their performance in the corporate governance evaluation for 2021. The top 35% in each category are shortlisted.
A comprehensive ranking is conducted based on the average turnover rate and trading volume from January 1st to June 30th of 2022. The top 30 companies in each category are included in the finalist list.
Selected companies are notified, and voting is conducted by institutional investors and the media. The company with the highest number of votes in each category is recognized, resulting in the selection of 5 companies in total.
Following verification and approval by the TIRI Executive Committee, the awards are presented publicly at the annual conference.

Best Investor Relations Officer

Companies selected as "Best Investor Relations Company" are invited to nominate one IRO candidate.
IRO candidates nominated by the companies undergo voting by institutional investors and the media. The top vote-getter in each category is selected, resulting in the recognition of 5 officers.
After verification and approval by the TIRI Executive Committee, the awards are publicly presented at the TIRI Annual Conference on December 14th.
